In just three short years, Clickmox has revolutionized the way underground mines are scanned and mapped. Clickmox’s proprietary 3D scanning and mapping technology is transforming the global underground mining industry. Providing stationary and mobile options, Clickmox’s remote-controlled vehicles and drones can scan and map hard to access areas like stopes, ore passes, and ventilation areas. Mining companies can now receive accurate information in areas that were once practically inaccessible - allowing them to identify any faults, cracks, and geological features that may impact mine safety and production. K4 Integration creates and develops ruggedized products that are built for the harsh underground mining industry. Since 2008, the Company’s advances in digital technology have helped the mining industry track, locate, identify, and monitor the movement and location of personnel and assets thousands of feet underground. Its TopVu Tag board incorporates electronics that pick up the location of RFID tags and transmits that information into a real-time database above ground.
The TopVu system has been installed at the NORCAT Underground Centre and serves as part of the daily operating procedures thereby validating the technology in an operating mine setting. K4’s RFID readers allow mine operators to track people, personnel, and equipment in their operations, ensuring safety and efficiency, while also monitoring productivity and production. In an emergency, this technology shortens response times and saves lives.
MacLean Engineering is an industry leader and innovator in heavy equipment development and manufacturing for underground mining. Headquartered in Collingwood, Ontario, MacLean Engineering has been developing underground mining equipment solutions for more than four decades.
MacLean Engineering provides design, manufacturing, and marketing services for the mining, municipal, environmental, and industrial goods sectors. The company services and supports customers in 23 countries on six continents through a global network of customer support locations in North and South America, South Africa, and Australasia. MacLean Engineering has worked with NORCAT for more than six years and has utilized the Underground Centre to maximize its development and testing in a real and functional mine environment.
Testing MacLean Engineering’s drilling and resin injection technology within the NORCAT Underground Centre has allowed the company to further refine its products and expedite commercialization for new product introduction in the global marketplace.
Maestro Mine Ventilation is an award-winning, Sudbury-based company that is known for its innovation, research, and product development for the global mining industry.

Taking measurements at a mine can be both dangerous and time consuming. RockMass has streamlined data collection for ground control engineers, geotechnical engineers and geologists to provide a safer and faster way to obtain information crucial to mining operations. Using a platform that enables engineers and geologists to collect and process 3D point cloud data into useful geological measurements, highly accurate and consistent data is available within a matter of minutes.

MIRARCO (Mining Innovation Rehabilitation and Applied Research Corporation) established in 1998, is a unique, hybrid, not-for-profit entity comprised of teams of scientists and engineers, IT & business professionals, and students. Schauenburg Industries Ltd. is a company of the Schauenburg Group of Companies and one of Canada’s leading manufacturers of ventilation products. In operation since 1989, Northern Survey Supply Canada (NSS) is a distributor of surveying products specializing in mining and engineering measurement systems and solutions that digitize, connect, and optimize underground mining.
Being accurate and efficient are two critical elements in today’s mining industry. It is crucial that miners follow mine plans accurately to be as efficient as possible. Partnering with Precision Mining Systems, Autodesk and Leica Geosystems, NSS Canada has developed the MOSS – Miner Operated Survey System and have established a partnership with Hexagon Mining as an authorized reseller. NSS Canada has been assisting underground mining operations globally to achieve safety and productivity gains by continually adapting and embracing new technologies.
Being able to connect all parts of a mine with technologies that make sense of data while integrating, automating, and optimizing critical workflows is shaping the way data is looked at. NSS Canada leveraged the NORCAT Underground Centre to test and train employee on a suite of new products in an operating mine environment and installed and showcased a proof of concept of its personal/mobile equipment proximity sensors to mining customer prospects around the world.

Redline was able to take full advantage of the NORCAT Underground Centre to install, test and demonstrate its innovative LTE 4G technology in an operating mine environment to exemplify how its suite of products and technology builds a solid foundation on which all digital transformation applications can rely.
NLT is a turn-key partner in the design, deployment, and support of scalable technologies that revolutionize the way mines communicate, collaborate, and operate. Since 1984, NLT has pioneered innovative technologies for the mining industry with solutions for safety, communication and productivity to make mines safer and more efficient.
In 2005, NLT was the first company to implement Wi-Fi in mines and spearheaded the adoption of a new generation of safety and productivity tools through the implementation of networking technologies in mines across the world.
